The late Thomas Carvel founded the soft ice cream brand, Carvel, in 1936. In the mid 1930s, he borrowed $15 from his future wife, Agnes, to sell ice cream from his truck. He later sold ice cream from a store and ultimately franchised the brand.
The Thomas and Agnes Carvel Foundation is the family's ongoing commitment to philanthropy in our communities, and we are proud to be the beneficiary of a $10,000 grant. The Foundation's support will assist us in fulfilling our mission - to provide service dogs to children with autism, offering safety, companionship and opportunities for independence.
We are deeply grateful for the Foundation's support.
